On 15th Sept., Dr. SHE KONG CHONG from Southern Illinois University gave a presentation concerning Soybean Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) in USA in Harbin area of NEIGAE.
SDS found in 1971 then spread out quickly in agricultural area in USA, has severely impacted the yield of soybean. Dr CHONG has observed that the occurrence of SDS has related to the soil water content, macro-pore, soil compaction, planted field and gave suggestion how to reduce the restriction of SDS on yield of crop.
Dr CHONG visited Hailun National Field Research Station on 18th Sept. Prof. Han of the station chief introduced the field experiments.
This is the first time for Dr. CHONG to visit Heilongjiang. He hoped that his visit would build a bridge for future potential cooperation between Southern Illinois University and NEIGAE.
