Recently, Heilongjiang Association of Moillisols Utilization (HAMU), directed by Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology (NEIGAE) and joined by Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences, Heilongjiang Agricultural Academy of Sciences, Northeast Agricultural University, Northeast Forestry University, Bayi Agricultural University and other agricultural institutions, approved by Heilongjiang Department of Civil Affairs (Registration No. 1089).

Heilongjiang Province owns one of the four contiguous bodies of Mollisols in the world, which has been a commodity grain base in China since the founding of PRC.

As an integrated research entity of Chinese Academy of Sciences, NEIGAE) owns a good team of mollisols scientists engaged in a very extensive research areas. The establishment of the association will provide an academic platform for Mollisols researchers. Also, it will promote an interaction and cooperation between concerning institutions.
